Sassafraz wedding

Nathalie and Philip hosted their intimate wedding at Sassafraz, the beautiful Italian restaurant in Yorkville.

Both the ceremony and reception took place at Sassafraz, creating a seamless and cozy celebration. Expecting rain, they decided to have their first look at Mint Room Studios. They also took a special moment for their personal vows.

It was a stress-free day, surrounded by family and friends, filled with love and joy.

Natasha and Philip shared what they loved most about having their wedding at Sassafraz and what their favourite part of the day was.

– Why did you choose CAFFINO RESTAURANT as your venue, and how did you like it? Would you recommend it?

We were looking for a simple and elegant space that would be a good fit for a smaller wedding. Sassafraz has a private event space on their second floor that was the perfect size for our wedding (~60 guests). It allowed us to have everything in one place (ceremony and reception), without spending an arm and a leg on a venue fee. Plus, since it is a restaurant, we had a lot of options for the menu and all of the food was cooked to order right in the restaurant. The staff were lovely and very accommodating of any of our requests. We really enjoyed having our wedding at Sassafraz and would definitely recommend it!

– What was your favourite part of your wedding day?

We loved having live music for our reception. We had an acoustic duo (Lisette & Tyler) play after dinner and it was a great fit for our intimate wedding. Despite being acoustic, they were fun and lively, and filled our small dance floor! We received a lot of compliments on the music and were glad we picked music with a vibe that felt true to us as a couple.

– do you have any advice for couples who are planning their wedding?

Add personal touches to your wedding! Don’t worry about doing things that are “non-traditional” or different from other weddings you have been to. Your wedding should speak to you as a couple – the most important part is that you both enjoy it!
