Gladstone House wedding

Jennah and David are a beautiful international couple who chose to celebrate their Toronto wedding at the iconic Gladstone House.

Their love story began when they met through mutual friends at a pub dinner in Uppsala, Sweden. Jennah spotted a cute guy and made a beeline to sit next to him, and the rest, as they say, is history! With Jennah being from Toronto and David from Sweden, they wanted a downtown location that was accessible for all their closest family and friends.

Planning a wedding from afar, while living in Barcelona, wasn’t easy. However, the Gladstone House made the process much smoother for them.

In this post, Jennah and David share some valuable tips on planning a wedding and why they loved having their celebration at Gladstone House, perfect for couples considering this beautiful and modern venue.

– Why did you choose Gladstone house as your venue, and how did you like it? Would you recommend it?

We chose Gladstone because of the real Toronto vibes it has that merges both the classic and modern. The building and venue are stunning and had just the intimate party feeling we wanted. When we toured we were also impressed with the people who worked there, and how much Gladstone takes care of for you. As an international couple the less we had to think about the details ourselves the better.

We also loved the idea of getting ready on-site and not having to move far at the end of the night. The perfect location of Gladstone likewise was an important aspect since we wanted it to be easy for our guests to get there by public transit or ride share. We were super impressed with the Gladstone and the staff, who went above and beyond to make sure that everything went smoothly on our wedding day.

The food was delicious and plenty, the location super convenient, the ambience exactly what we were looking for and we would highly recommend Gladstone House to others for their wedding! If we had to do everything over from scratch we would 100% choose them again.

– What was your favourite part of your wedding day?

It’s hard to choose, but a few memories in particular stand out. Obviously, getting to marry each other was the highlight, in particular the private moments we shared afterwards soaking in the fact that we were now married.

The wonderful feeling we had sitting at dinner and looking around at all of our favourite people from around the world gathered together in one place is also a memory we will always cherish. Another highlight for us was the dance party, neither of us stopped dancing for longer than it took to grab a drink! It was also so much fun having a longer cocktail and sparkling wine hour (or rather two hours) and getting the time to chat and laugh with all of our wonderful guests. We also snuck out for photos just before dessert and ended up popping a bottle of sparkling wine on the rooftop together, which was just perfect!
