Kelsey and Ryan tied the knot at Ancaster Mill venue located in Ancaster, Ontario.

Ancaster Mill is a beautiful venue. It has an amazing architecture with high ceilings and tons of natural light and wood arches. The atmosphere surrounding the venue is also really nice. It gives you the feeling of being in nature. It was winter and snowy but they were so good embracing their day as it wasFirst, they got ready at The Barracks Inn. It’s a stunning hotel which is very close to the venue. After that, they headed to the Ancaster Mill for the ceremony.

They had an intimate celebration with their closest ones. Both of them are creative minds and they are into lego. That’s why they decided to incorporate that into their big day.

For the reception, instead of using flowers as centrepieces, they used lego pieces trying to get all the guests’ creativity involved. Everyone was free to do their own construction.

Their day was so beautiful and I am thrilled to have been a part of it. Congratulations, you two!

They were also generous enough to give some tips for future couples who are thinking of getting married and to give feedback about the venue. Keep reading!

Why did you choose The Ancaster Mill venue for your venue and how did you like it?

When we were looking for a venue we wanted to make sure we found one that was naturally beautiful. We were not adding a lot of flowers or decor, but we still wanted a nice room with a nice atmosphere. The Ancaster Mill was everything we wanted, it was a beautiful venue even without decoration. Since they also run a restaurant all the food was made on-site and we had a choice of different food packages. They have a menu system that guests can choose from day of which we really liked, instead of having to RSVP with your meal choice months in advance. The staff were beyond helpful and accommodating, as the Bride I didn’t have to worry about anything day of! Their teamwork and efficiency made our wedding beautiful, I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Advice for future couples

When planning our wedding we sat down and decided what was important to us, and how to make the event a celebration that represents us. Being creative people we decided against real flowers and sourced a few faux arrangements online. We used Lego as our main theme and decoration tool, creating our signs, invitations, and table decorations around it. Make sure to include your passions and feel free to be unique. If you like painting have mini canvases and some paints at the tables! We had bowls with Lego our guests could build with, it was nice for us to see what everyone built. I also know people who had board games instead of a dance. There is no wrong way to do a wedding! Listen to peoples suggestions but remember that at the end of the day it is your wedding, and it is important to make sure you like the decisions you make. Have fun and enjoy the process and your big day!
